Larson Park bordering Sonoma Creek in the Springs has multiple facilities for the young and older population alike. Located in the neighborhood at 329 DeChene Avenue just 3-4 blocks off Hwy 12 at Lichtenberg Avenue. could impact everyone on sewer hookup in the Valley. If tankers filled with LPG parked on SMART (Sonoma Marin Area Rapid Transit) owned tracks at 8th Street East and Hwy 121, could damage the sewage facilities nearby.

Review – A Chorus Line, presented by Transcendence Theatre Company, Jack London State Park, Glen Ellen
The production represents fulfillment of a long-held dream of the group’s founders Amy Miller, Brad Surosky, and Stephan Stubbins, who seemed to always know, or perhaps hope, that one day their company would reach a point where it would be possible to mount their favorite musical of all time, and do it as only TTC can do it. That means pulling out all the stops with a tremendous cast, nimble orchestra, and a fresh take on staging and choreography, and the result is truly memorable, a fantastic performance full of delights.

It’s Fire Season! Are you ready? Are your neighbors ready? Walk the neighborhood. See high grasses? Are there thistles as high as your eye? Are there overhanging limbs near electrical wires? First, take care of your property. See potential problems in the neighborhood? If so, contact the property owner. If that fails to get results, call SVFRA – Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue Authority (707) 996-2102. Cal Fire has provided a grant of just over $1 million to six local organizations to participate in vegetation management and controlled burns. Collectively they are known as the “Sonoma Wildlands Collaborative.” The six organizations are the Audubon Canyon Ranch (Bouverie Preserve), California State Parks (Jack London, Annadel, Sugarloaf), County Regional Parks , Sonoma County Ag + Open Space District, Sonoma Land Trust, and the Sonoma Mountain Ranch Preservation Foundation.

A newly published book, “Where The World Begins: Sonoma Mountain Stories and Images”, is written by local authors, Arthur Dawson, Meg Beeler, Rebecca Lawton, and Tracy Salcedo. This coffee table book displays 140 photographs, a dozen maps, and a treasure of commentaries by local writers, hikers, and preservationists. Photographer Ed Cooper, Sonoma Mountain resident, provides a series of gorgeous pictures. “North Sonoma?” If you looked for it on a map you wouldn’t find it! Yet, on the night of March 6 at the Sonoma Library many of the nearly one hundred anxious residents proclaimed they lived in “North Sonoma.” This area is bounded by Highway 12 on the west, the final extension of Donald Avenue on the east, and the area in between Ernest and Verano Avenue. What was the fuss? Well, “North Sonoma” residents loudly voiced their concerns over several matters in argumentative and accusative tones.

The mid-February rains brought Sonoma Creek up several feet. The creek’s two channels became one as runoff from the hills in Warm Springs and Sugarloaf Mountain combined in Glen Ellen. The picture above shows the forces of water at Larson Park in mid-month. At the same time in 2018 the year’s rainfall had been a mere 9.41”. Variances at different places in the Valley and County. This year rain levels have varied at different reporting stations in Sonoma Valley. Glen Ellen has greater rainfall than Boyes Springs and the City of Sonoma reports slightly more than Boyes as well.
