Michael Acker has created a magnificent on line museum detailing the history of the Springs. It’s free on line at www.springsmuseum.org. It doesn’t look like the Boyes Blvd. bridge over Sonoma Creek will be finished soon. It’s hard to believe that its been twenty (20) years since the City voters approved an urban growth boundary (UGB) that limits growth into the surrounding hinterlands. Springs residents do not get to vote on this measure, but they will be affected one way or another. The Sonoma Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) has hired consultants to recommend different plans for electing Board members. Currently Board members are elected at large by all voters. A Board majority feels this may result in underrepresentation of voters in the Springs who are more often Latino and theoretically vote less often.

The Sonoma Petaluma Parks puts on a Holiday festive event that attracts several hundreds of people each year. On Saturday, December 14, there are three opportunities to join in caroling at the Sonoma Mission San Francisco Solano. Sonoma Valley residents keep asking about progress at the SDC. Sonoma County brought together a committee to study whether there is a maximum threshold for absorbing wineries in the Dry Creek region and the Sonoma Valley.

The Spring’s Community Farmers Market serves the community in numerous ways. The Market is a community asset just off Highway 12 in the Plaza behind the Post Office, Sundays, 10-2 p.m. There’s easy parking, walking, and a plethora of foods and vegetables for sale.
