I’ve discovered that the Nevada Seismological Laboratory has a website showing six fire lookout videos of our Northern California area, updated several times a minute. In the Geyserville vicinity, there is one on Geyser Peak though it shows the view from the eastern side of the mountain. The Pine Mountain camera comes closest to covering our area.

As we move deeper into the darker months and pass the one-year anniversary of the devastating fires, I’m aware of how much has changed for most of us internally. The first day of rain didn’t bring me relief from anxiety over fires but instead reactivated my fears — at first glance, I thought the dark rain-filled clouds were billows of smoke from a new fire. Don't miss the annual Christmas Tree Lighting & Tractor parade November 24th from 5pm to 8pm.

The autumn came down quickly this year, with some early cool days - and then a leap back up into the 90’s as we headed out of September. It feels like we are in for a real change of seasons somehow this time. I’m watching the trucks filled with grapes driving past on Geyserville Avenue. https://napavintners.com/napa_valley/life_cycle_

It has been the season of pink sunshine here in Geyserville and the rest of northern Sonoma County and beyond—which sounds so cheery. Unfortunately, it’s what I notice when look at the mix of sunlight and shadows on the ground when there is either visible or invisible smoke lingering in the air, which has been the case for weeks now.

Summer days in Geyserville have been hot but beautiful. We’ve been having temperatures clinging to the 90s and, oddly, often rising even higher on the weekends. I heard once in Southern California that automobile traffic patterns can also affect weather, but in the relatively low-traffic area of Geyserville, I wouldn’t expect that to necessarily hold true. These weekend heat spells make me wonder.
