Visioning seems to be the theme for SMP this year!
First, we dreamed a wonderful book about Sonoma Mountain. Then we created three very successful book launch parties— attended by 550 people like you—to raise awareness of the mountain in our backyard.
Now we are stepping back to vision and dream what's next for us as an organization speaking for the Mountain. We'd love your input about what's important and of interest to you. The Google poll takes about two minutes. Take survey here. Thanks for your input!

Ways to Protect the Mountain: Upcoming Events
Sugar Shuttle, North Slope to Jack London
Plan your long hike from North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve to Jack London with the help of SEC's Sugar Shuttle, running on Sept.21-22 and Nov. 9-10.
North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve offers 820 acres of redwoods, hillsides, the famous Umbrella Tree, and connecting trails to Jack London State Historic Park. Check it out!
Do You Hike at SDC?
We're looking for hikers who want to guide small groups on the SDC wildlands, especially to the Grandmother Redwood. If you're interested in being a volunteer guide, contact us. We'll focus on fall-winter-spring hikes.

SDC: 725 new acres of SDC open space will become part of JLSHP and Regional Parks. Keep up with what's happening here.
Lafferty Ranch: the Petaluma City Council has allocated $50K for planning—270 more acres of open space on the west side. Thank you all!
