Sonoma County Fire expands advanced life support to parts of Santa Rosa

Take an active role in your safety

Did you, Drop - Cover - Hold On? The recent earthquake is a strong reminder that we live in earthquake country. Go to ready.gov and search for earthquake, for tips on what to do before, during and after an earthquake.

During the earthquake our dispatch centers received many calls asking for information. 9-1-1 lines that are tied up with questions may delay a response for someone having a life-threatening emergency. During a natural disaster, please call 2-1-1 for information and resources, and only call 9-1-1 for life threatening emergencies. You can also check social media pages of your local public safety and government agencies for official information.

Graton Fire

This last month, Graton Fire sent out Engine 8460 to assist with the Mosquito Fire burning in El Dorado and Placer Counties. The fire at time of this post is 61,012 acres and 20% contained. Our crew has been hard at work, working 24 hour shifts, holding containment lines and suppressing the fire. Graton Fire remains fully staffed and ready to respond to incidents in Sonoma County. Right about now the leaves on tree are beginning to turn orange and may start falling soon. Ensure your roof and gutters are clear of debris so that if a larger fire is to happen in Sonoma County, your home is well prepared for defense.
