Sonoma County Fire District to launch 911 ambulance services

Happy New Year! Some exciting news for Sonoma County Fire District to start off 2024: Our new 911 Ambulance Services in central Sonoma County launches on Jan. 16!

We're thrilled to share a major milestone in emergency services for Sonoma County! Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 16, the Sonoma County Fire District will officially roll out its new 911 ambulance services in central Sonoma County.

In June 2023, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors awarded a contract to Sonoma County Fire District for advanced life support ground ambulance services for Exclusive Operating Area No. 1, which includes Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park and much of central Sonoma County. This achievement underscores our commitment to the community's safety and well-being, ensuring the highest standard of emergency care.

Be on the lookout for our new fleet of red ambulances, as we mark a pivotal moment in elevating emergency response capabilities in Sonoma County. Your safety is our top priority, and we're excited about the positive impact this new service will have on our community.

Congratulations to Fire Chief Heine for being selected as one of the Press Democratā€™s 24 to watch in 2024! His progressive vision has raised Sonoma County Fire District to a premier All Risk Fire District leading the way in innovative practices in Fire/EMS services.

From all of us here at Sonoma County Fire District, we would like to extend A HUGE heartfelt thank you to all the community members, businesses and organizations that donated to the 2023 Toy Drive. With your generosity we were able to help make the holidays much brighter for local Sonoma County children and families.

We look forward to proudly serving Sonoma County in 2024!
