Regional Parks Russian River Trail Public Meetings Canceled by Flood Impact
Due to the flood disaster, Sonoma County Regional Parks has canceled two community workshops on a proposed Russian River bicycle and pedestrian trail.
The workshops announced for March 9 and 12 in Guerneville will be rescheduled for a later date. Regional Parks is studying the feasibility of building a 19-mile trail from Forestville to Jenner and will be inviting the public to learn more and provide feedback about the project.

What & Why?
The lower Russian River’s River Road / Highway 116 is a high-traffic, high-speed road with a history of multiple bicycle and pedestrian accidents.
Regional Parks is proposing to develop a 19.3 mile long multi-use trail along the Russian River corridor between Mirabel Park and Jenner. The trail would provide a safe walking and cycling alternative for commuters and visitors traveling this congested corridor.
What's Next?
Regional Parks received funding from Caltrans' Sustainable Transportation Planning program and North Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District to complete a feasibility study for the Lower Russian River Trail.
The study will gather input from the community and stakeholders, evaluate existing site conditions and roads, identify opportunities and constraints, and recommend a preferred trail route.
Due to the recent flood disaster affecting our Russian River communities, the first two community workshops have been CANCELLED. The workshops will be rescheduled for a later date.
