Live theater: Gearing up for the new season
As local theater companies prepare for their new seasons, which traditionally start in September, there are still a couple of live theater events to keep you entertained during August.
Spreckels Theatre Company in Rohnert Park offers āAtlas, the Lonely Gibbonā by Deborah Yarchun. Donāt let the intriguing title mislead you ā this quirky-sounding, world premiere production about a young female journalist seeking solace in a virtual reality show about an ape is not for children.

Transcendence Theatre Companyās āHooray for Hollywood,ā a lively song-and-dance trip through some of Hollywoodās most popular movies, continues through August 14, performed outdoors in the Jack London State Historic Park at Glen Ellen.
