The FarewellFor those of you who like to see movies in the theater, you will be happy to know there are seven amazing movies opening this month in theaters. Starting with “The Farewell”. It stars Awkwafina as a granddaughter who is devoted to her grandmother who she finds out is dying. Fans of “Oceans 8” and “Crazy Rich Asians” will love Awkwafina in a dramatic role. It opens August 2nd.

This is an adventure story set in the world of a modern Mark Twain that begins when Zak, a young man with Down syndrome runs away from a nursing home where he lives to chase his dream of becoming a professional wrestler.

The Art of Racing in the RainAlso opening August 9th is   “The Art of Racing in the Rain”   starring Milo Ventimiglia and Amanda Seyfried. Dog lovers believe their canine family members understand language, comprehend events, have opinions and exude loyalty.

For my live theater fans I have a special treat for you.  “Help is on the Way XXV”  is August 18th. This is an amazing charity event starring Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless, the stars of “Cagney and Lacey”. Also my favorite American Idol, Kimberley Locke will be back. Last year she knocked it out of the park. I can't wait to see what she sings this year. Carole Cook will receive the lifetime achievement award. Cast members from “Hamilton” also will be performing. It will be held again at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco. Go to for more information.
