2022 Sonoma County Tree Lighting Events

Sonoma County’s holidays kick off strong with annual tree lighting ceremonies lighting up each community. Check out the listing below to find out when your town is hosting it’s annual event. The guide below is listed chronologically, with the earliest event noted first.

Winter Lights Tree Celebration

Winter Lights Tree Celebration in Santa Rosa. Head to the Old Courthouse Square for the annual tree lighting ceremony in Santa Rosa. The event includes ice skating on the square, live performances, photos with Santa, performances by the Redwood Theatre Ice Company and of course, everyone’s favorite beagle: Snoopy!

When: Friday, Nov. 25, 4 to 7 p.m.

Geyserville Tractor Parade

This one-of-a-kind parade celebrates agriculture and big rigs in the tiny town of Geyserville. Dress warm and grab your friends and head north!

Where: Highway 128, Geyserville.

When: Saturday, Nov. 26, 6 to 8 p.m.

Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Grove

The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Grove is an annual holiday event located on the Windsor Town Green, the premier central gathering place for Windsor residents and visitors. The event highlights over 200 lighted individually decorated holiday trees lining the walkways of the Green. Students, families, groups and local businesses showcase their talents in design and decorating with their themed trees.

When: Thursday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, Jan. 1

Sebastopol Tree Lighting Ceremony

Join your Sebastopol community for the annual tree lighting ceremony in the Sebastopol Plaza. The event includes free warm beverages, performances and the arrival of a special guest!

Where: Sebastopol Plaza

When: Thursday, Dec. 1, 5 to 8 p.m.

Merry Healdsburg

Merry Healdsburg returns to downtown Healdsburg, thanks to the combined work of the Healdsburg Kiwanis and Healdsburg Commerce & Visitors Bureau. The night includes live music performances by Rocio y Su Sonora and the Healdsburg Chorus, family activities, carriage rides, food and dessert vendors and hot chocolate from Costeaux Bakery. The tree lighting ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by photos with Santa Claus at 6:45 p.m.

When: Friday, Dec. 2, 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Winterfest + Fiesta Navidena

Head to downtown Cloverdale Friday night for an evening of food, wine, live music and shopping. Bring the kids for photos with Santa Claus and an outdoor screening of “Arthur Christmas” in both English and Spanish. The night also includes dancing, cookie decorating and more.

When: Friday, Dec. 2, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Cotati Tree Lighting Ceremony

Come to La Plaza Park for Cotati’s annual tree lighting ceremony. The evening includes music, free coffee and cocoa, cookies and more. There will be holiday crafts for children, story time, entertainment and special guests. Don’t miss out!

When: Friday, Dec. 2, 4 to 8 p.m.

Rohnert Park Tree Lighting Ceremony

The city’s holiday tree lighting event includes free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a performance by the high school marching band, free holiday treats and refreshments, activities for children and food and adult beverages for purchase. The event is open to the public thanks to the Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce.

When: Saturday, Dec. 3, 6 to 8 p.m.

Guerneville Parade of Lights

The Guerneville Parade of Lights is back! Head to Main Street in Guerneville for the beloved community parade.

Where: Downtown Guerneville

When: Saturday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa

Santa will show up early in Cotati with a healthy appetite. Choose from two sittings and enjoy a meal of pancakes, sausage and eggs, plus cocoa or coffee. Crafting opportunities are available for children afterwards.

Cazadero Christmas Gathering

Join the community at the Cazadero General Store for a Christmas stroll and tri-tip BBQ. Santa Claus will arrive at noon for pictures.

When: Saturday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Winterblast 2022

SoFA Arts District in Santa Rosa hosts WinterBlast 2022, an event including music, arts food and a parade. Head to the district and enjoy it all!

Where: South A Street and Sebastopol Avenue

When: Saturday, Dec. 10, 4 to 8:30 p.m.

Lighted Boat Parade

Get in the holiday spirit on the water at Petaluma’s Lighted Boat Parade. The boats leaves the Petaluma Marine at 5:30 p.m. and arrive at the Turning Basin at 6:15 p.m.. The even is sponsored by the Petaluma Yacht Club and Petaluma Downtown Association.
