‘You are not alone’ assures Forestville musician in new song release
Forestville-based indie avant-garde electronic music and video producer Lenkadu released a new single BIRTHING on 18 Feb 2021. Filled with confidence in nature’s coherent design and our human capacity to endure, this song can bring a reassurance that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
Samples of her son nursing, manipulated vocals, exotic scales and pulsing tribal rhythms, Lenkadu stylings have a wide dynamic and emotional range. The song is inspired by the experience of giving birth to her son and is a gentle anthem for life which matures into a dance track. The lyrics are both in English and Czech, painting a rich visual picture of a journey. Lenkadu's voice moves from stratospheric heights to animal-like lows and resembles the untamed deliveries of Icelandic Bjork, Swedish Fever Ray and early Laurie Anderson. Her sensitively woven tapestry of sounds is neither blissed out or pitch black. Listen to it and then listen to it again. This might just be the perfect antidote for our times.
Beats and bass were contributed by Lenkadu’s mentor ‘Lucid Creatures’ from Massachusetts, video images by Patrick Stephenson from Ojai and the rest is self-produced by Lenkadu in the ‘Magic Garden’ studio. Birthing single is available on all major platforms on February 18th along with a music video via YouTube.
About Lenkadu
Lenkadu is an avant-garde electronic music producer and a performer from the Czech Republic, now based in Forestville, CA. The axis of Lenkadu music is her free voice, which she uses unconventionally as an instrument with a wide emotional imprint.
Lenkadu creates visuals from photos and videos she shoots around the world and her synced video projection is an integral part of her live show. Immersed in the projections, she makes the stage explode with colorful theatrical props such as party balloons, ribbons or vintage telephones. Through her whimsical stage presence, Lenkadu opens a portal for her audience to journey into a safe space of introspection and self-healing, refreshed by this captivating and honest show. Defying the confinement of any genre, Lenkadu perpetually takes artistic risks and as a result creates genuine work.
Releases
Lenkadu last single ‘Newborn Night’ was released in October 2020, preceded by a March EP ‘MAKE IT YOURS’, her fourth compilation. All music is available on Spotify and Bandcamp.
