Summer’s right around the corner

How did we get here? It's amazing how time flies by. We weathered quite the year in 2020. I know a lot of people are feeling isolated and tired of the Covid pandemic. Most of us have followed the protocols of staying home, sanitizing and wearing masks when in public. I think most people have been practicing safe social distancing and being extremely respectful when out in public. But I still find it odd that many families have been travelling to Hawaii, Mexico, Florida and other destinations before getting vaccinated. The CDC recommends not travelling, yet many don't care and put their lives and others at risk. Please be cautious and respect the health of others.

RN Homeowners Association Picnic:

I'm so excited about Memorial Day Weekend. Looks like the tide is finally turning in the right direction. Due to Covid as we all know our lives have changed enormously. And we have missed out on some RN PICNICS and EVENTS.

The RN Homeowners BBQ is in full swing this year with a few temporary changes. The first chicken bbq of the summer season begins on May 30th at 4pm - 9pm. It will be at approximately 50% less capacity. It is scaled down to ensure safety measures. The picnic tables are spaced out well and families are asked to come with their masks on, but please do take them off when its time to bite into that delicious chicken dinner. You can pick up your food to go or dine at one of the many picnic tables. Wine, beer and spirits will not be served this year, but feel free to bring your own beverages if you plan on dining at one of the picnic tables.

PEE WEE Mini Golf:

Attention all! Pee Wee Mini Golf is finally open for the Summer. Yippee! Yippee! The course has been spruced up and tidied up by none other than local Marsee Henon. The course and its snack shack has undergone some major changes in the past few years and is now open from 6:00pm - 9:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The snack bar is amazing offering all sorts of goodies for the kids. Popcorn, Candy, Beverages and "Its It" Ice Cream sandwiches among other tasty treats. So bring the kiddos down to hit a couple of balls, enjoy some treats and have some good old fashioned family time. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR THE SUMMER FOR THE PICNICS AND PEE WEE GOLF. Please Contact Douglas Misner the President of the Rio Nido Homeowners Association by emailing him at: DMC@rioniodo.org.

Rio Nido Pet of the month:

Minka Minx is the RN Pet of Month. She is a rescue from the Green Dog Rescue Project. Minka is a lover and likes to burrow under the covers when she sleeps. She is a happy little spirit. Instead of walking, she skips. Its very endearing. She is exceptionally affectionate and loving. Although she adores her mommy, she definitely favors her daddy. Minka is a serious lounger. You can find her snuggled deep in the bed sheets on a daily basis. She enjoys her doggie treats and walks around the neighborhood with her mommy.
