We are pleased to report that considerable interest has been shown in our Matching Grant Program this funding cycle. To allow more time for interested public agencies and nonprofits to apply, we are extending the application deadline from April 30 to Wednesday, June 6, at 5pm. This year, funding through the program can help support recovery efforts in fire-impacted communities through the restoration of habitats, acquisition and development of land for community open space, and other projects. Eligible projects that aid in rebuilding and recovery efforts in affected communities may be given preference. The Matching Grant Program budget for the 2018 cycle is $4 million.
Every two years, Ag + Open Space, through our competitive Matching Grant Program, provides funding to public agencies and nonprofits for the protection of open spaces within Sonoma County communities for local agriculture, community recreation, natural resource restoration, and public access. Since 1994, this unique program has provided over $30 million towards projects in all nine incorporated cities and in multiple unincorporated areas, allowing our partners to leverage that funding to develop diverse and innovative projects throughout our county.
The application for the 2018 funding cycle runs from January 31 – June 6. Please note that funding through the program can help support recovery efforts in fire-impacted communities through the restoration of habitats, acquisition and development of land for community open space, and other projects. Eligible projects that aid in rebuilding and recovery efforts in affected communities may be given preference.
Applications must be received by 5PM Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Ag + Open Space office located at747 Mendocino Ave, Suite 100, Santa Rosa 95401.
