Sonoma Coast Half Marathon planners publish program for Public Meeting March 31st

The Half Marathon, scheduled for September 29, 2019, begins at Jenner Headlands Preserve, heads south on Hwy 1 through the town of Jenner, crosses the bridge at Bridgehaven, and continues south until runners get to Eastshore Road where they turn right, then right again on Bay Flat Road. They continue on Westshore Road to the finish.

UPDATE: The Marathon has been postponed for now. Representatives from the marathon will be at the meeting on Sunday, March 31st as planned.

The Sonoma Coast Municipal Advisory Council will hold a Public Meeting on March 31at2pm to discuss the Sonoma Coast Half Marathon with members of the community. The agenda will be published on the County website and at public locations along the coast at least 72 hours prior to the meeting for review.

Sonoma Coast Marathon planners published their program in advance of the Public Meeting scheduled for March 31st at Bodega Bay Grange Hall,1370 Bodega Ave, Bodega Bay. Planners are moving ahead with a half marathon in spite of being unable to produce a full marathon from Fort Ross to Bodega Bay in response to community input. Amid complaints from residents of coastal towns impacted by this planned event, the marathon is up against irate residents and businesses who are concerned about road closures on the one route everyone travels since there are no alternatives.
