Sebastopol Senior Center Offering More Resources

Zoom Help!

We're here for you.

As the Senior Center and MANY other organizations begin using Zoom to offer services and classes, we are all forced to become Zoom pros.

If the thought of using Zoom is overwhelming for you and the YouTube tutorials aren't helping, we are here for you. Please click here to sign up to attend a drop-in Zoom help session. Katie (that's me!) will be available to assist you during two times:

Monday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

or

Tuesday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Be sure to sign up because we will be sending a link for you to click to join the session. I'm no Zoom genius, but I had to learn Zoom very quickly so I can help with the basics. Let's learn together!

Things are changing!

As of this morning at 12:01 a.m., The Sonoma County Health Officer has amended the Shelter-in-Place Order to allow for the reopening of several additional industries including:

• car washes

• pet groomers

• dog walking services

• residential and janitorial cleaning services

• outdoor museums

• open air galleries

• botanical gardens

• and other outdoor exhibition spaces

In addition, some Sonoma County Parks have reopened their parking areas to allow for the enjoyment of our Parks. There are several stipulations, of course, so please read the full Order of Health here.

I highly recommend signing up for Sonoma County Alerts (SoCo Emergency Alerts) to stay updated on Health Orders. Things seem to be changing quite rapidly, but let's remember to stay vigilant. We WILL get through this.

With that said...

At the beginning of the pandemic, we chose to increase communications to bi-weekly emails to ensure everyone stayed up-to-date with available resources. We are now moving back to one email per week, likely on Mondays, so keep a look out. We will, of course, continue to update our website regularly. We add new resources, updates, and we update the Zoom Class Schedule.

Check that out here. Click on the COVID-19 tab.

The Legacy is now accepting donations by appointment!

Yes you read that right!

Starting Monday, May 18, 2020 The Legacy will be taking calls for appointments from 10am to 1pm to accept your curbside donations.

For your safety and for the safety of our staff and volunteers, donations are accepted by appointment only. Please be sure to wear your mask when dropping off donations and interacting with our staff and volunteers. Thank you!

To make your appointment, call 707-823-7520 from 10am to 1pm to schedule an appointment. Please call The Legacy directly, and not the Senior Center.

Check out The Legacy on Facebook for lots of video updates!

Additional Resources

We are steadily adding to our list of resources for you and your family during this time.

In fact, we just head from one of our sponsoring agencies that they have a series of COVID-19 seminars designed to help each of us take better care of ourselves. The seminars — all completely free and open to the public — are presented by a team of social workers, spiritual care coordinators, and music therapists.

For more information about these seminars and other resources, pleases visit our Resource Page here.
