Santa Rosa's Flamingo Hotel get a New Owner and Restoration

Yang Capital and restaurateurs Anderson Pugash and Benson Wang have acquired a managing interest in the historic Flamingo Hotel in Santa Rosa. The property will come under new management through a joint venture between their respective operating companies Point Hospitality and Serious Leisure. Point Hospitality will operate the guest rooms, event center and health club while Serious Leisure will manage the food and beverage.

Together, the companies are planning a repositioning of The Flamingo. The Flamingo was built in 1957 and has long been a cornerstone of the Santa Rosa community. The team plans to honor its history and sense of community through a thoughtful restoration and renovation of the property.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Winter 2020, and an update of the rooms, event spaces, and common areas is planned, with a mid-century modern aesthetic. The food and beverage program will be overhauled as well, with a new restaurant concept that will be announced later this year.

About the Property:

The Flamingo Hotel was built in 1957 and designed by architect George Bernard Russell, the same architect as the original Las Vegas Flamingo. An immediate success, it drew celebrities and jet-setters to its oversized pool and courtyard. The property is spread across 9.5 acres, with 170 rooms in 5 different buildings with 13,000 square feet of meeting space. The property includes the Montecito Heights Health Club as well.

The property has been in the Ehret family for over 40 years and seller Pierre Ehret will retain a majority interest in the property.
