In order to safely and quickly restore power to the remaining customers in Sonoma County affected by the recent fires, PG&E will fly a Huey helicopter today in the Mark West Springs area of Santa Rosa. There are two landings zones – one on Wilson Road and another on Porter Creek Road. The helicopters will be carrying various equipment; including power poles up to 55 feet long. The flights will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today. Crews are and will be replacing and setting at least 13 poles in the area.
PG&E crews have safely restored power to more than 97% of the Sonoma County customers who can be restored. Today we currently have 65 outages affecting electric service to 1,355 customers in Sonoma County, mostly in the area of Mark West Springs Road. We have been granted access to all areas affected by the fires, except for where the Pocket Fire is still burning.
PG&E has completed 100% of the assessments of the damaged areas … assessed more than 22,000 structures and have made them safe… and identified 805 poles that need to be replaced and have since replaced 650.
