Petaluma Gap's Wind to Wine Festival: Get blown away by the flavor!

The Petaluma Gap Winegrowers Alliance (PGWA) has announced the date for the highly-anticipated 2023 Wind to Wine Festival. Wine enthusiasts and industry insiders alike can mark their calendars for Sat., August 5, 2023, when the festival will take place at SOMO Village.

The annual festival celebrates the distinct wines grown in the wind-driven Petaluma Gap American Viticultural Area (AVA) by pouring highly-awarded wines from over 25 wineries. Visitors can taste a wide variety of cool-climate varietals, including pinot noir, chardonnay, syrah, albariƱo, pinot gris, grenache, malbec, and cabernet sauvignon to name a few. The festival also offers the opportunity to purchase wines tasted onsite directly from the participating wineries.

Additionally, the festival includes delicious bites to complement the wines, a story corner showcasing Petaluma Gap winegrowers, live music, and the chance to participate in intimate winemaker dinners and hosted experiences at satellite Wind to Wine events.

The Petaluma Gap AVA's unique wind and fog conditions, created by a wind gap in the coastal mountain range, produce grapes of unparalleled quality, making it one of California's premier wine-growing regions. The Wind to Wine Festival is an excellent opportunity to taste some of the best wines from the area while learning about its rich agricultural history, including the first grapevine plantings by General Vallejo, the critical role of the Petaluma River in the Gold Rush, and the devastating effects of Phylloxera.

Tickets for the festival will go on sale starting on Monday, May 15, at 12 noon. The PGWA encourages all producers of Petaluma Gap wine to participate in the festival and to work with the Alliance to promote their own Wind to Wine event in conjunction with the AVA Festival. The PGWA thanks American AgCredit, returning as Presenting Sponsor for Wind to Wine, and looks forward to new partners, co-sponsors, and guests joining for another successful and fun event.
