It's hard to believe movie theaters and live theater have been closed since March. I'm going through withdrawal! Seriously, let's pray for our friends at Spreckels and all the other playhouses who haven't been open for all this time. Movies that were supposed to open in movie theaters have found homes at Netflix and Hulu. If you don't subscribe to these services it would be wise to investigate them. If you only went to one movie a month you spend over $20 including your ticket and snacks. Look at all the money you have saved by not going for the last four months. I only pay $9 a month for Netflix and nothing for Hulu. There's a fun movie that started showing on Hulu called ”Palm Springs” starring Andy Samberg, J.K. Simmons and Peter Gallagher. If you enjoyed “Groundhog Day”, you will love “Palm Springs”.

Fans of “Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure” will love the fact there's a new movie entering the franchise called ”Bill and Ted Face the Music”. It opens August 28th. It stars x. Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle aged best friends Bill and Ted set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Opening August 12th is “Tenet” directed by Christopher Nolan. It stars John David Washington and Robert Pattinson. Armed with only one word - Tenet – and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time. “Project Power” premieres on Netflix August 14th. It stars Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It takes place in New Orleans, where a new pill gives users an unpredictable temporary superhuman ability. Foxx plays a father searching for his daughter, who was taken by the makers of the drug. Foxx's character teams up with Art, a police officer played by Gordon-Levitt to find his daughter and fight the sinister forces behind the drug. It looks amazing!

In live theater news, Andrew Lloyd Webber is officially taking legal action against Donald Trump. “Cats” veteran Betty Buckley called on Webber to send a cease and desist notice to the Trump campaign, as the song “Memory” from “Cats” continues to be played at his rallies. Now action has officially been taken by Webber's company in the UK.

Do something nice to yourself and subscribe to Disney + so you can experience “Hamilton”. Remember people paid over $200 to see it live and you can see it for under $10 and see all the close ups that television offers. Remember to wear your masks so we can go to the movies again!!!
