Holiday happenings in Sonoma County

Here’s our roundup of Sonoma County community celebrations and events for the 4th of July Weekend. Have fun and stay safe!

Jul 4 - Sonoma Valley Fireworks Display - Our fireworks technicians are making changes to our show for a higher aerial display. With these changes, we are encouraging viewers to watch from home or from a distance. 8 p.m. Sonoma Valley.

Jul 4 - Petaluma Fireworks - at the Sonoma Marin Fairgrounds, the show will be designed to display higher and brighter in the sky to allow more residents the opportunity to enjoy festivities from the comfort of their neighborhoods. Grounds will be closed to spectators; Viewing advised off-site. 8 p.m. Petaluma.

Jul 4 - Bell-Ringing Ceremony - Hear the Petalumans of yesteryear tell the story of America’s independence and the history of the Korbel bell. Pledge of allegiance, then Mayor Barrett will read the proclamation. 10:30-11:00 a.m., Petaluma Historical Library and Museum, 20 Fourth St., Petaluma.

Jul 4 – Devils’ Darlins Local Car Club Classic Car Cruise - Starts at 9 a.m. at the parking lot of the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building, then around the Sonoma Plaza, up Highway 12 to Glen Ellen, and back to Verano Avenue.

Jul 4 - Healdsburg 4th of July Kids’ Parade and Duck Dash - Costumed Kids’ Parade, duck races, games, activities, hotdogs, popcorn, snow cones, and lemonade and street corn! All food and activities are free, but donations are appreciated 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Healdsburg.

Jul 4 - 4th of July Sunset Hike at Sugarloaf Ridge - Upon arrival at the top, you’ll enjoy a sumptuous mountaintop reception. We’ll serve hearty snacks. The 360 views from this vantage point span the Bay Area, from Windsor, Berkeley, and Oakland, San Francisco. $50, and proceeds support Sonoma Ecology Center’s operation of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, 2605 Adobe Canyon Rd, Kenwood.

Jul 4 - Friends of Villa Grande 4th of July - Hear excerpts from the Declaration of Independence, sing patriotic songs, and then parade around town to fun and funky music of the Hubbub Club. Wear red, white and blue outfits. 6 p.m., Firehouse Plaza, A favorite local band will be playing for all of us and our holiday guests to enjoy.

Jul 4 - Petaluma Veterans and Community Fourth of July Breakfast Fundraiser - This event will take place at the Petaluma Veterans Bldg. located at 1094 S. Petaluma Blvd, Petaluma. Cost: $7/adult and $H/child. 7 a.m. -12 p.m., Petaluma.

Jul 4 - Forestville BBQ - Live music, food, drinks and fun. Pulled-pork sandwitches, hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, wine, water and sodas, jump house for kids. 12: 30- 5: 30 p.m., downtown Forestville under the oaks.

Jul 4 - Celebrate 4th of July at Cornerstone - Join us for a live, full band celebration with Kingsborough, wood fired pizza, craft cocktails, curated wine, and a great time! Music will be playing from lla-3p in the outdoor kitchen. 23570 Arnold Dr, Sonoma.

Jul 4 - Red, White, and Blue BBQ with KINsmoke - Your favorites including burgers, brisket, ribs, salads, and a selection of sides for everyone to choose from. Live music from Hootenanny, playing a set list of classic rock, pop, and country. Advanced reservation required. 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. at Rodney Strong Vineyards, 11455 Old Redwood Hwy, Healdsburg .

Jul 2-4 - KOA Fourth of July Celebration - Check out the Petting Farm animals all dressed up! Sing karaoke, foam machine, arts and crafts, parades, watermelon eating contest, kid’s pool party and hula hoop contest and so much more! 20 Rainsville Road, Petaluma.

Jul 4 - Independence Day BBQ Dinner - Hot dog and hamburgers dinner from 4-7p, bar from 4 p.m. until it’s done. Music by our own David Rosen. 4-8 p.m. At: Rio Nido Homeowner’s Park, 14725 Canyon 7 Rd, Rio Nido.

Jul 4 - Thank You Windsor, 20 Years All Month Long - Birthday, cake at 11:30 a.m., Windsor Farmers Market, Windsor Town Green
