Guerneville Groove by Beth Rudometkin - October 2017

So many groovy changes happening in downtown Guerneville! Veteran Realtor, Mary Mount has moved to Russian River Realty and already has her name up on “the board” as Agent of the Month!Congratulations Mary! How DO they get that signs up there?!

Right across the street on the opposite corner, Equality Vines Tasting Room has opened the first “cause related” wine brand and on the back side of the Plaza Building, now open is Postal Outlet Plus, offering pack & ship services, mailbox rentals and notary / business services. Check out PostalOutletPlus.com.

For your printing needs, don’t forget longtime business Dee Dee’s Guerneville Graphics & Printing, located at the opposite end of town at 16442 Main Street. Dee Dee has supported our community for many, many years and we shall continue to return the favor! But wait, there’s more groovy news...

Chamber Elections: The Russian River Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Board of Directors election and in all of my time as an active member of the Chamber have I ever seen so many candidates! If you are a member, please be sure to cast your ballot, as this is a very important election; so many new ideas and solutions will be presented with the new board and if you want your voice heard, you must vote!

Now that fall has arrived, it’s time to think of... yes, I’m going to say it...the Holiday Season! We are the grooviest place on earth when it comes to the Holidays! October kicks off with a fundraiser on October 10th at the Rainbow Cattle Company Give Back Tuesday, for the Holiday Parade of Lights Extravaganza! Thanks to Friends of Stumptown for keeping this annual tradition going! I hear the Prince/Princess Contest is coming back as well! This contest is the main fundraiser that supports the parade, which unfortunately was canceled in the recent past years; so happy to see tradition returning! For those young men and ladies out there who missed out on participating in the past, keep an eye out for more information coming from the Chamber.

One of Us: On September 5th, our community lost a lifetime friend. On September 16th, our community gathered together for a Celebration of Life for William (Bill) Guerne. A man who lived life to its fullest and had the biggest heart in the world. You always knew where you stood with Bill and you always listened when he told you as much. He touched pretty much every soul in this town during their child and adulthood, and will never be forgotten. Our hearts and prayers of strength go out to the Guerne family.

Keep on groovin’ Guerneville!
