The Forestville Wellness Center (FWC) sustained significant smoke damage from a non-structural fire that occurred early Friday morning, January 3, 2020.  Services will continue uninterrupted in an alternate location in Sebastopol while the facility is under repair. The alternate location is at 652 Petaluma Ave Suite H, Sebastopol, CA 95472,  contact: (707) 823-3166.

The current building is in need of repairs. Services will continue uninterrupted in an alternate location in Sebastopol while the facility is under repair.

West County Health Centers is extremely grateful to the Forestville Fire Department for their immediate response to the incident which prevented more serious damage.

The Forestville Wellness Center is a unique site which supports the health and wellness of West County Health Center patients, employees, and the community as a whole. FWC offers services that would not typically be accessible for our low income and government insured patients such as such as acupuncture, Chinese medicine, osteopathic manipulation, herbal medicine, ayurvedic medicine, and HeartMath. Many of the services are offered in group medical visits that educate patients, support behavior change, and decrease isolation. The groups support patients as they work toward their goals for better nutrition, movement, and stress management. Research has shown that these lifestyle changes can make an even larger impact than medications for many common chronic diseases, and it is our goal at Forestville Wellness Center to empower West County Health Center patients to take control of their health. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

The Forestville Wellness Center was established in 2011 and has a number of collaborative relationships with other community organizations including the Northern California Center for Well-Being, California School of Herbal Studies, and the Ceres Project. Through collaborative and sustainable partnerships between patients, practitioners of alternative and traditional medicine, and the greater community the Forestville Wellness Center strives to provide a holistic and integrative model of care to West County Health Centers' patients and the community.

All FWC patients are encouraged to keep their regular appointments. Information and updates will be posted regularly on the West County Health Centers websitewww.wchealth.org.

The Forestville Wellness Center provides integrative health services to 3,500 West County Health Centers patients from throughout western Sonoma County.  Prior to the fire, the Forestville Wellness Center averaged 50 patient appointments per day in Forestville.

In the wake of recovery from two federally declared natural disasters in 2019, ensuring the sustainability of West County Health Centers and safeguarding access to primary medical care, dental and integrated behavioral health services has become even more critical in western Sonoma County.  West County Health Centers remains the sole provider of primary medical services for the unincorporated areas of western Sonoma County and one of the few providers of dental and behavioral health services available to Medi-Cal recipients.
