The San Francisco Film Festival opens April 4th and closes April 17th. The films to look out for are “A Kid Like Jake”, the opening night film. It stars Claire Danes and Jim Parsons. There’s a party after the screening. Film and party costs $70 and film only costs $25. The closing night film is “Don’t Worry He Won’t Get Far on Foot”. It stars Joaquin Phoenix and Jack Black. Directed by the very talented Gus Van Sant. Film and party costs $70 and film only costs $25. Charlize Theron fans will be happy that she’s getting a tribute before her new film, “Tully”. This is your chance to rub elbows with this very talented Oscar winner on April 8th. It only costs $25. Emma Thompson fans will want to see her new film, “The Chidren Act”. There are two screenings. April 12th and April 13th. Christopher Plummer fans will want to see “Boundaries” showing April 15th. If you’re a fan of Joan Jett, you can’t miss her new documentary, “Bad Reputation” showing April 14th. Mr. Rogers fans will want to see his new documentary, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” showing April 7th and April 9th. John Woo fans will want to see his new movie, “Manhunt” showing April 13th. For my live theater fans, you can’t miss “Star Wars, Jaws & More: Boston Pops Plays the Music of John Williams” April 21st at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. Call 510 642- 9988 for more information. Opening April 10th at the Curran Theater in San Francisco is “Head Over Heels”. It’s the musical set to the music of The Go Go’s. Call 415-358-1220 for tickets. Fans of the awesome Mavis Staples can see her live at the Luther Burbank Center April 27th. Call 707 546-3600 for tickets. The next night at the Luther Burbank Center is “Price is Right Live”. For you “Price is Right” fans that always wanted to go to a taping in Los Angeles but couldn’t this is your chance. Finally there is “Blackbird” at the Main Stage West in Sebastopol.
