The USDA’s Rural Business-Cooperative Service has announced the 2019 Rural Energy for America Program cycle, which helps agricultural producers and rural small businesses install renewable energy systems and make energy efficiency improvements.
Under the Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvement Assistance, the USDA provides grants, of up to 25% of projects costs, to agricultural producers and rural small businesses to purchase and install energy efficiency improvements including upgraded HVAC systems, insulation, windows and doors and many other qualifying measures. In addition to energy efficiency measures, solar and other renewable energy systems such as biomass, including anaerobic digesters, wind, small-hydro-electric, ocean, geothermal or hydrogen derived from renewable resources are also eligible.
To learn more about the program, sign-up for the upcoming workshop and resource fair on November 6th, from 9am –11am at the Farm Bureau office located at 3589 Westwind Blvd. in Santa Rosa.
In addition to the USDA, representatives, presentations, and information about other energy and water-related programs will be available. The event is brought to you by the County of Sonoma, Energy and Sustainability Division in partnership with the Sonoma County Farm Bureau. To pre-register for this free event, contact the Energy and Sustainability Division at (707) 565-6470 or email GSenergy@sonoma-county.org.
