Coastal Cleanup Day Perfect Match for Climate Action

Coastwalk/CCTA is coordinating Coastal Cleanup Day for Sonoma County and trying to recruit volunteers for 18 beach locations as well as providing a hub website to link to all our partner’s inland waterway cleanups to help them recruit volunteers.

Coastwalk is responsible for collecting and compiling all the citizen science data collected about types and amount of the debris removed that day from all the beach locations and inland waterway sites and reports this to theCalifornia Coastal Commission so that it will help form policy to help reduce the impacts of harmful marine debris to our coastal environment and wildlife.

This is a huge endeavor for us and we are asking for your help to spread the word.

Volunteers must pre-register: Our registration page is live so folks can start registering now and also get info about the event at

Great links and we have streamlined the registration process. We also have provided information for folks who want to step up their commitment by providing “beach captain” info.

In our efforts to continually improve Coastal Cleanup Day - This year we are:

Our commitment remains strong to making Coastal Cleanup Day successful.
