Cloverdale Comments by Carol Russell and Reece Foxen - December 2017

Great little teddy bears made by volunteers will be given to children affected by the recent fires and bolt fabric+home at 219 North Cloverdale Blvd. is joining other fabric stores in hosting these volunteers as they sew.

Want to join this incredible crew in creating gifts of love? Call Kate Barrett, owner, at (707) 894-2658 to reserve a space plus a machine, if needed.

Bolt will supply already cut out teddy bear kits and thread for the sessions on: Thursday, December 7th, from 1pm to 5pm and/or Sunday, December 3rd and/or 10th, from Noon to 4pm. (Please note: Volunteers must have recent machine sewing experience to participate.)

If you can’t come in and wish to make the teddies at home, Carol’s Zoo Teddy Bear pattern is available for $8 through bolt. (Regular hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm)

The season of giving is upon us. In fact, we find many wonderful things at bolt for family and friends! Their fabrics are exceptional examples of art, which easily draw out and reflect your creative spirit.

But bolt isn’t limited to sewing essentials. While Reece (who loves to sew) gets lost in the beauty and joy of the fabrics and notions, Carol (who can barely thread a needle) revels in all the unique decorative and practical items comprising the “home” part of bolt’s name.

A short walk away at 216 South Cloverdale Blvd., you’ll discover Cloverdale Nursery with its treasure of living gifts that exemplify their motto: inspire, grow, enjoy.

With an inventory that changes with the seasons, December’s plants both help you decorate indoors and outdoors for the holidays and will also last through the seasons for many years to come.

Add in exceptional pottery, unique gardening supplies, and more and it is easy to love it all, yet not be 100% sure what to select for that hard-to-buy for relative or friend. Answer? Get them a gift card so that your special person can do their own selecting!

We hope you’ll enjoy Cloverdale’s traditional holiday events:

Christmas Tree Lighting in the Downtown Plaza complete with hot chocolate, cookies, carolers and a visit from Santa Claus. Join the joy and sing with family and friends on Dec 1st 5pm to 7pm

Thrill to the Nutcracker Musical at the Cloverdale Performing Arts Center on December 1st, 2nd, 8th, and 9th at 7:30pm plus December 3rd and 10th at 2pm. Tickets: $12 child/student, $22 adults available at www.vendini.com.

Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah!

We wish you the very best of whatever makes December special for you and yours! May it be all you hope for and more. Thank you for giving us the gift of your readership!
