Clean River Alliance UPDATE for River and Coast cleanup results

Post cleanup report for the first six months of 2019.

In the first six months of 2019 Clean River Alliance has helped remove over 136,664 pounds of material from the Russian River watershed. That’s

Working with lots of partners, lots of volunteers and our local Homeless community to create a trash program to mitigate trash in our watershed at every level.

We do all kinds of cleanup‘s including, cleaning up our local beaches, we have over 5 miles ofadopt-a-highway that parallels the Russian River, We do river-based and land-based cleanups, we work with our local high schools to create cleanups and educate students, we organize Town cleanup’s and help clean out our storm drains before winter rains, but what makes us different than any other cleanup group in the whole world is that we have created and are working with our local homeless community to create clean camps and provide a trash service on a regular basis for them. Out of the 136,664 pounds the folks living outside collected and put out over 50,000 pounds of material for us to pick up in bags provided by us. By doing all this we have seen a dramatic decrease in the amount of trash we are seeing on our local beaches.

We are currently addressing trash in our watershed from Ukiah all the way to the mouth of the Russian River in Jenner and none of this would be possible without our partner and sponsorRussian Riverkeeper and Don McEnhill.
