Mother Nature is just showing off! Monster crashing waves on shore & thundering rain in January so beautiful to see. Birds steadying themselves to fly. Salmon Creek opening to welcome the ocean. Breathtaking beauty abounds. It’s the perfect time to visit the coast – little traffic, great shopping, delicious dining, breathtaking hikes and spectacular waves, viewed safely of course. Might get a bit damp but it’s the coast!
Just clamming around. Clams were devoured on Bodega Bay Chowder Day January 26th with 1,500 tickets sold to Clam Aficionados! Check out the Bodega Bay Area Chambers website for the “Chowda” winners at www.visitbodegabayca.com. Time to dine and taste all the winners!
No Boom, No Bang this year during 4th of July in Bodega Bay. Survey went out to local folks asking if the Bodega Bay Area Chamber should keep putting on the show! While we all love the sparkles, we have to think of our bird’s nesting nearby, impact to our Bay’s underwater friends and of course, fire danger. The survey said...let’s be kind and safe this year so no fireworks in Bodega Bay for 2019. At this time, the Chamber and the local community are looking into alternative festivities that would honor and highlight our maritime heritage so that we may continue to celebrate our Independence Day in a fun way that utilizes our coastal location.

It’s been very crabby! Crab season is upon us with visitors on local charter boats getting their limits & the commercial fisherman hauling crates of those tasty crustaceans aboard. Looming over the season has been challenging weather, Domoic Acid & enough meat in the shell. Whew, our season opened just in time for the holidays with us all been feasting on sweet & delicious crab! Thank you to the fisherman who bring this delicacy to us.
