Bodega Bay Beat by Joan Poulos - November 2019

Can you feel the excitement? Are your taste buds getting ready? Ahh, that first bite of delicious sweet Dungeness crab. Will we be crab happy in November? Yes, hopefully! Our commercial fisherman will let us know the moment the latest tests for Domoic Acid are finalized. We want them to put their crab pots out for sure. Thanksgiving & the holidays are the money-makers for our crabbers. Don’t forget to support your local crab fisherman! It is hard and dangerous work! Buy more local crab!

SUPPORTING THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER– Bodega Bay Firefighters Association is proud to support breast cancer awareness month. They are still selling pink t-shirts at the BB Fire Station, 510 South Highway 1, for $20. This year’s shirts are dedicated to Lori Anello, Chief of Two Rock Volunteer Fire Department and Engineer for Coast Guard Fire at USCG Training Center in Two Rock. Lori is also the wife of one of their Fire Captains, Lou Stoerzinger. I’m a 17 year warrior. Let’s end this!
