Better Together - Russian River Area is Open for Business

The

Many people who live in the river communities have weathered this storm in the past so know what it takes to clean up, dress up, and get back to normal lives. This flood hit many businesses hard so people are coming out to help each other. One of the ways we know we can help is by supporting local businesses to keep the local economy strong. When we want a meal out, we head to Guerneville and Monte Rio, Duncans Mills and Jenner. While we're in these communities we look around to see what we need that we can purchase from someone who is getting his/her business doors open and needs to pick up from the losses of this past month.

“The community in the Russian River is a powerfully resilient group of business owners and neighbors that cherish Sonoma County and are always here to support one another, especially in times of need,” said Lynda Hopkins, County Supervisor, Sonoma County. “We are all #bettertogether and will be supplying those who have been affected details on assistance programs and other resources through the Chamber.”

“As a community, we’ve all come together to help one another and know that as the water recedes we will continue to rise,” said Jeff Bridges, Co-Owner of R3 Hotel and President of the Russian River Chamber of Commerce. “#bettertogether is indicative of who and what we are as a community. The hashtag gives anyone the power to spread the word that the area is open for business.”

Hotels, restaurants, tasting rooms, retail stores, and more throughout the area are immediately welcoming guests and offering discounts for social postings with positive imagery and encouragement for those affected that include #bettertogether . Visitors and locals can call the Russian River Chamber of Commerce (877-644-9001) for more details on businesses that are welcoming guests.

Here's a list of Russian River Chamber Members who are open and ready for business. Not all of them are in flood-impacted areas, so please prioritize those along the Russian River just 'cause they need you the most right now. THANK YOU
