Astrology: November 2021

This month brings planetary interaction along the Taurus-Scorpio axis. These are fixed signs, meaning they prefer stability, continuity and security. To manifest and maintain these patterns, they tend to be habit oriented. Fixed signs base their habits on their values. If a habit is not delivering the quality of security desired, the value system itself should be updated.

Uranus, the energy of change, is transiting through Taurus. This is a type of cosmic oxymoron. The planet that can manifest the most extreme, sudden and rebellious changes is in the sign that values stability and tradition above everything else. This transit has already brought changes to the conservative financial industry due to the proliferation of cryptocurrency. This month, from the 11th-22nd Mercury and Mars will be in Scorpio and oppose Uranus. In addition, there will be an eclipse of the full Moon in Taurus on the 19th, which will conjunct Uranus while Mercury and Mars oppose it.

Oppositions create interactive tension. Opposite signs tend to similar behaviors, but they come from different points of view and, in the case of fixed signs, tend to have opposite value systems. Taurus prioritizes preserving and protecting what is significant. Scorpio needs periodic transformation of its priorities, behaviors and routines in order to maintain its sense of emotional well being.

Mid-month, therefore, could bring unpredictable or extreme changes, due the oppositions around the full Moon. Mercury-Uranus suggests open minded curiosity and stimulating conversations. Mars-Uranus, however, implies the potential for more aggressive perhaps physical confrontations. Anger could result from disagreement during verbal discourse, as each side clings to its fixed perspectives. One might either not integrate new information into long-held points of view or chose to only be open to information that confirms previously held beliefs. This could be true in terms of international relations, domestic dynamics or even in one’s own life. It could pertain to the financial industry, or conflicts around financial issues. It could also suggest at least threats of violence between nations.

The full Moon brings an immediacy to this dynamic that could bring a more lasting effect of the oppositions than they might otherwise have. Eclipses tend to coincide with unusual events, and since Uranus is the energy of the unexpected, it can difficult to predict exactly what may happen. An eclipse of the full Moon can also suggest challenges to people in positions of leadership, especially in the political arena.

How can these transits be used in a constructive way? It may be time to update our values by seeing things from new perspectives. We can use feedback from others to provide insight into our habitual ones. This can reveal blind spots that keep us stuck. One of the dynamics of the Taurus-Scorpio axis is the tension between the self-reliance of Taurus versus the need for emotional interaction that represents Scorpio. This is a good time to check within to see how balanced we are in terms of being competent and resourceful even as we are open to sharing on a deep personal level. Too much of the former can lead to being emotionally unavailable to both ourselves and others. Too much of the latter can lead to co-dependency.

The stimulation of these transits can help us break down patterns that may be normally quite rigid. By consciously creating new values and routines, we can manifest a more balanced relationship to life wherein our own resources are used to generate security for ourselves, even as we take others’ need and feelings into consideration.

Aries: The key to updating your values and habits can come from clarity about your principles and ethics. Growth can come from paying attention to the financial realm as well as the emotional interaction with those closest to you.

Taurus: The focus for you this month is on higher consciousness. New realizations about the nature of life and your place in it could lead to spiritual inspiration. In turn, that can enhance the harmony and fulfillment in relationship as well as your creative output.

Gemini: The oppositions this month could challenge you in two areas. One is health. Be careful and cautious so as to avoid accidents. The second is work. This is a time to learn new techniques or refine old ones in order to be more productive on the job.

Cancer: The new Moon in Scorpio on the 4th and the full Moon in Taurus on the 19th highlight the Taurus-Scorpio axis discussed above. The conflicts, as well as opportunities for growth, could happen with friends or groups as well as with children or lovers. Keep an open mind and be willing to change even if it feels (temporarily) that your security is threatened.

Leo: The conflicts of the month could come in early month for you and pertain to issues of work life versus home life. This is a good time to be open to new, creative inspiration on the job. It’s also a good time to dialogue openly with family members so that honesty and authenticity can prevail.

Virgo: This is a good time to be open to new information. It could come from classroom studies, random conversations, or research into pet projects. Stimulating dialogue can provide inspiration into new realms of thought and new points of view.

Libra: The focus for this month is on personal issues. They could pertain to your home, your family or on developing the relationship to your core self – emotionally, psychologically or spiritually. New insights and realizations could promote harmonious connections to all concerned.

Scorpio: It’s important that you get a lot of physical exercise this month. Without that, frustration and anxiety could lead to power struggles, especially mid-month. Engaging in some type of volunteer service in late month could provide a sense of fulfillment after a time of challenges.

Sagittarius: This is a time to be open to new conceptual realizations. Growth for you this month can come from integrating deep feelings and passions into thought patterns. Normally you may only rely on the mind to learn. This month emotions need to be addressed as well.

Capricorn: Venus will be transiting through Capricorn this month. This suggests a desire for social harmony and artistic expression. Challenges, either internal or external to your goals can be addressed effectively if diplomacy and tact take priority over the need to control a situation.

Aquarius: Relationships could be a priority for you this month. Growth can come from integrating your need for independence with your desire for social connection. The key is being authentic. If your friend or partner accepts you that way a balance has been attained that can enable the relationship to grow and thrive.

Pisces: A challenge for you this month is to not allow deeply held feelings overwhelm logically understood ideas and vice-versa. If the difference between them is extreme, it’s time to look at the feelings more objectively, and the ideas from a more personal place. This can lead to updating core values and the habits that they induce.
