A Father and Son's Reverence of Nature - Tracy and Fred Rose

By Kathleen McCallum

A new captivating nature photo book titled "Beyond the View" will be available in November in Copperfield's books. The book is a collaboration by photographer Tracy Rose and his father and writer Fred Rose. It is a dual dialog of photographs and poetic reflections that delve into the solace that nature brings.

The love of nature was instilled in Tracy at a very early age as his family spent so much of their time outdoors, camping and hiking in the natural environment. Feeling most comfortable in the wilderness, Tracy's life of wanderlust and nature expeditions continue to unfold and are shared in his graceful photography.

Tracy's nature photos have been shown at the Green Music Center, River Front Art Gallery, and local art festivals. They also have been published by The Nature Conservancy, The Press Democrat, and the Argus-Courier. Many of his nature videos have been used by state travel agencies and shared across numerous social media sites with views in the hundreds of thousands.

His father, Fred Rose, worked as a freelance writer in the early 1970s, providing feature articles for regional publications and several national magazines. In 1978, as a full-time freelancer, he began working with several advertising and public relations agencies serving the business-to-business marketing communications needs of high-tech Silicon Valley companies. From his home office, first in the Santa Cruz area and later in the Sierra foothills, he worked with more than 50 companies, writing copy for a wide variety of Marcom projects.

The father and son together marry words of the heart and the alluring beauty of nature to create this inspirational book "Beyond the View".

"Confronted by nature's towering majesties,

ego retreats, gives way to sharpening realizations of what in life

is truly meaningful, genuinely valuable".

Beyond the View will be available in November on Tracy's photography website at tracyrosephotography.com, art shows he participates in, and some local stores. A limited-edition of prints will also be available soon.

Each year, as if by mindful design,

countless varieties of natural beauty congregate

to form a singular and unforgettable display.
