Free gathering to reflect on the recent strandings of gray whales along the our coast. Hosted by poets Elizabeth Herron and Larry Robinson with a grief ceremony facilitated by psychotherapist Francis Weller, known for his work in the healing power of ritual.
The goal of this event is threefold: 1) to grieve for the whales who have died and express our gratitude for the generations of their companionship; 2) to provide the community with the space and ritual to express their grief for the loss of the whales and the degradation of their ocean home; 3) to raise awareness about the impacts of climate change on the marine environment.
People of all ages are welcome to attend. Dogs on leash are also welcome.
