What\'s Up in Windsor - September 2016 - Tina Castelli

Windsor has a cornucopia of things happening for the Fall Season. The Town Green Park is the perfect back drop for Fall events, local groups go all out decorating the Park. This is a good time to visit Windsor and eat at one of our new restaurants in Windsor’s newest Bell Village complex, Super Burger, Extreme Pizza and the crown jewel of the Oliver’s Markets with a fun Tavern where you can eat, drink and taste locally. Check out these dates on the Windsor Town Green for Fall fun for the whole family, you won’t want to miss it. 

Scarecrow Days on the Windsor Town Green

The Windsor Educational (WE) Foundation in partnership with Sonoma County and Windsor School Districts presents an opportunity for local families, classrooms businesses and organizations to build a Scarecrow. The completed Scarecrows will be on display from October 22nd through November 6th. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded, visit for more information or call Karen Alves at 707-328-9719. And just in time for the 15th Annual Harvest Jamboree

The Tree Grove will be full of Scarecrows when the Windsor Farmers Market presents their annual Harvest Jamboree, formerly known as the Pumpkin Festival on Sunday, October 23rd, from 10 – 1 pm. There will be a Giant Pumpkin Show, perfect time for a family photo. The Kidz Dig It Club will be having Pumpkin Carving & Painting, take home your creation. There will be the famous Pumpkin Car Races and Country Games with the Corn Bin for toddlers. Build your own Scarecrow to take home. The community is really involved in this event with all kinds of things to eat and drink while you shop, come early, stay late. WHS Culinary students will be offering their fresh Fall baked goods at a Bake Sale. The WHS Boosters and the Windsor VFW will be presenting a yummy Pancake Breakfast including pumpkin pancakes on the Sparks Stage starting at 9 am. The Windsor Garden Club will be holding annual their Fall Plant Sale. They will be bringing back their gorgeous pumpkin floral arrangements that went like hot cakes last year and they will be offering pots full of Fall plantings to get planted in your garden now. To drink, the Windsor Chamber will be serving Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Sit on one of the big picnic tables in the Grove or on one of the tables by the band and enjoy your treats while tapping your toe to a live Bluegrass Jam with David Hamilton & Friends.

Brand New FREE Event on the Town Green

The 1st Annual WE Foundation Harvest Festival happens on Saturday, October 29th from 1 – 5 pm on the Windsor Town Green. This is a new event that used to happen at Windsor Creek School as an annual carnival, this year growing and moving to the Windsor Town Green, very exciting. This year’s theme is “A Child’s Fantasy World”. Join all the families in Windsor to celebrate the fall season and of course Halloween. There will be carnival games, haunted houses, local food, live music and lots of fun for all. Many of the classrooms in Windsor sponsor games and the creativity is wonderful and the games are fun and you win prizes. Visit for more information and flyer you can download.
