Cazadero Communications - July 2016

by Natasha Pehrson

I was awoken by the pitter patter of rain drops in the early morning! This sort of untimely rain has cleared the dust off of the large redwoods outside of my airy cyber hut and heralds Summer’s official beginning on the Solstice!

There is a lot going on in our little corner of the world, much of it planned by the Cazadero Community Club! The Annual Chili Cook-off will be held on Saturday, July 30th from 11 to 3 at Firehall #1. Lots of fun and food! Please contact Bonnie at or Patti at for info on how you may enter your special chili recipe. YUM! Please attend the next meeting of the Cazadero Community Club, which will be held on Tuesday, July 12th, 7 p.m. also at the Firehall.

The St. Colman’s Guild presents their fabulous Salad Luncheon on Tuesday, July 26th at Firehall #1. A very convivial atmosphere with a a great variety of delicious salads, plus a raffle. Only $15. Please call MaryLou at 632-9107 for reservations. Cathy Schezer and the crew at beautiful Sky Garden will have their Annual Rummage Sale on Saturday, August 27th. Contact Cathy at to sign up.

Check out the website at for their interesting summer activities and events.

In the midst of projects involving your vehicle, garden or household? Remember Cazadero Supply’s very helpful 1st Saturday 15% Discount Day on July 2nd.

The Cazadero Volunteer Fire Department will hold their Fireman’s Dance and Barbecue on Saturday, July 23rd, with dinner from 5 to 8 and dancing with group ‘Two Steps Down’ from 8 to Midnight. Chief Krausman reminds us all that the extra rain that we have received this year has created more brush. Please clear off the area around your house and be fire safe!! Raymond’s Bakery continues their Pizza & Music nights on fridays until 9 p.m. Their delicious baked goods are available at a variety of Farmer’s Markets, including Bodega Bay.
