Blood Drive in Sebastopol on May 24th

Blood Centers of the Pacific (BCP), the local non-profit blood provider, is proud to partner with Sonoma West Medical Center (SWMC) for a lifesaving event. 

Jane Rogan, SWMC Director of Communications states, “Sonoma West Medical Center is a public healthcare resource, dedicated to improving acute and outpatient healthcare access for our local community.  Our mission to save lives, heal the sick and comfort the hurting is aligned in every way with the Blood Center.  We are committed to the collaboration with our local Rotary Clubs and the Sonoma West Medical Foundation to increase blood donor participation.”

BCP has been a community blood provider since 1941and serves patients in more than 50 hospitals in the Bay Area including all of the hospitals in Sonoma County. “The new medical center is welcoming the public to join in on the lifesaving and we couldn’t be happier to partner with them,” offered Kent Corley, Public Relations Associate for BCP.  “We are thrilled for West Sonoma County to have Sonoma West Medical Center up and running.  We hope folks will roll up their sleeves and make a lifesaving contribution.”

The blood donation process takes about an hour.  Donors can complete the online health questionnaire the day they donate, prior to arrival at

Donors must be at least 16, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional height/weight requirements apply to female donors 22 and younger.  Donors who are 16 need a signed BCP parent permission slip.  Please arrive well nourished and hydrated with photo identification.
