West County Early Literacy Fair

Ms. Talin Tamzarian O’Keefe, the Elementary school Principal from Forestville Union School District, wanted to invite parents of children from 0-5 and the West County community to their first annual Early Literacy Fair (ELF). On March 30th, from 4:00-6:30pm, they will have dozens of community organizations with amazing resources to share with parents, or soon to be parents, of young children. Ms. Tamzarian and her Kindergarten team of teachers, Mrs. Erica Randolph and Ms Talia Kilburn, are grateful for the support of a grant from Road to Early Achievement and Development of Youth (READY). The READY grant is enabling the school to fund the Early Literacy Fair as a way to provide parent education and outreach for West County residents.

In addition to the resource fair, author Jonathan London will be in the Forestville Library, reading from his new Froggy book, Froggy Goes to the Library. Mr. London will be signing books and the school will have books for purchase.

Parents and students will have the opportunity to play exciting education games and win prizes. The computer lab will also be open for Family Technology time. There will also be delicious snacks and finger foods and children can make giant bubbles, play computer games and get books from the free Bookmobile. Spanish translation is available for parents and children. The playground is also open with supervision.

Forestville parents will have the opportunity to register children for PreSchool, Transitional Kindergarten, Kinder garden and before-and-after school care. Receive an amazing gift bag when you register your children for the TK/Kindergarden program.
