New Fare Collection System Coming to Sonoma County

On January 17, Santa Rosa City Bus joined Sonoma County Transit and Petaluma Transit in launching use of the Clipper fare collections system. Santa Rosa CityBus is excited to join the extensive list of Bay Area transit operators currently offering Clipper as a fare collection option: AC Transit, including Dumbarton Express, BART, Caltrain, County Connection, Golden Gate Transit, Marin Transit, SamTrans, Muni, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, San Francisco Bay Ferry, Tri-Delta Transit, Napa VINE, WestCAT, WHEELS, SolTrans, FAST and Vacaville City Coach.

In addition to paying cash fares, Clipper cards can hold transit passes and are programed to provide transfer discounts within CityBus trips and for Sonoma County Transit and Golden Gate Transit trip. Transit riders will be able to purchase Clipper cards, add cash value and buy any type of transit pass offered in the Bay Area at the CityBus office in City Hall. Passes and tickets are specific to each transit system.

Clipper users will have the option to set up Autoload, which automatically reloads Clipper cards whenever a pass expires or cash or parking value balance falls below a designated level. Clipper fares are the same as all CityBus fares with discounts cards for youth, seniors and people with disabilities. A new adult Clipper card costs $3. Clipper will waive the fee if you order your card online and sign up for Autoload: clippercard.com/ClipperWeb/index.do
