UPDATE :  Guerneville Community Meeting

The Russian River Chamber of Commerce (RR Cof C) would like to thank the more than 400 concerned citizens who attended the community meeting on Monday, January 11th at Guerneville School.

Thank you 5th District Supervisor Efren Carrillo for moderating and serving as a panelist for the community meeting as well as all of our Elected Officials, Community Leaders, and staff including Sheriff Steve Freitas, District Attorney Jill Ravitch, Russian River Fire Chief Max Ming, West County Health Centers Executive Director Mary Szecsey, West County Community Services Executive Director Donna Roper, and Community Development Commission Director John Haig.  Special Thank you to Lieutenant Al Vernon, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department for addressing some of the citizen concerns regarding homeless problems. 

There are a number of local groups working on community issues including the Russian River Area Resources and Advocates (RRARA) which is a local Health Action Chapter for the lower Russian River. RRARA meets regularly to share information and work towards solutions for complex community issues that affect the general health of the community.  Meetings are held monthly at the Fife Street Commons Community Room in Guerneville visit for more information about meeting dates and topics.

Vet Connect which meets at the Guerneville Veterans Memorial Building, is an On-going outreach program for all veterans and their families, helping Veterans with housing, VA Benefits, Legal Issues and many other services for veterans on the 2nd Thursday of Each Month Noon - 3:00 PM.

In addition, The Russian River Chamber of Commerce will continue to facilitate organized community dialogue and information with our elected officials.  We encourage and invite our entire community to participate in being part of positive, legal solutions to community problems.


The Russian River Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization with approximately 270 member businesses. Ranging in size from the smaller micro-business to mid-size firms to large international companies, they represent every industry sector and all areas of Western Sonoma County.  The Chamber’s mission is to promote the general welfare and prosperity of the Russian River area business community.
