Southeast Greenway goes before Santa Rosa City Council in October

Southeast Greenway goes before Santa Rosa City Council in October

Tuesday, October 6th is an important day for community members interested in a Greenway on the 52-acre, two-mile stretch of property that connects Farmers Lane with Spring Lake Park. Senior Planner Erin Morris will be presenting her report on “Existing Conditions, Opportunities, and Constraints” for the property. Additionally, the Community Development Department will be asking Council to authorize a General Plan Amendment and Environmental Impact Report, scheduled to begin this autumn.

The Southeast Greenway Community Partnership believes that completion of these processes is the key to eventually acquiring the land from Caltrans. The General Plan Amendment process will result in decisions about future land uses. This is an important next step for the Southeast Greenway Project and will provide many opportunities for community members to offer ideas about the best uses of this land.

The Council meeting, which starts at 4 pm, will provide a great opportunity to learn more about the property. An agenda will be available online a few days prior to the meeting. Please plan to attend or watch the meeting online at the City’s website or on cable TV.
