Problems Caused by Obesity

There are many problems that obesity can cause. Many of these problems are serious while others may just be slightly bad. One problem is high blood pressure. Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. If the pressure rises and stays like that over time it will damage the body.

Another problem is types of cancers, obesity raises your risk for colon, breast, and gallbladder cancers.

Obesity can also affect your very way of living, and it will be hard to even do common things. Sometimes you won’t be able to find things that fit you properly causing stress and a lower self esteem about how you feel on yourself. You might feel ashamed of yourself and worthless, that is low self esteem, you won’t give yourself credit for good things you done and will be antisocial. It may be painful doing things as to walking or driving, or even sitting down. You may be judged by many people for being overweight and want to be seen less, meaningless, jobs and less interaction to obtain money. The obesity epidemic is rising and its getting worse with more foods causing it, we need to do something together to fix the problem and help as much as possible.

One shouldn’t worry though, for there are ways to prevent obesity and if you are worried that you are nearing it, there are ways to diet so you could lose weight. First off to prevent obesity at a young age such as teen/young adults you can follow a healthy eating plan. Keep your calorie needs in mind and this doesn’t mean just eating salad, no it means instead of a greasy meal you eat something that doesn’t have such grease. Focus on portion size, how much you serve yourself and how much you eat. Cutting down portion size is very effective. Another thing is to stay active. Exercising is an obvious choice and one everyone can do. Walking is an easy way of exercising, find things you like to do such as a favorite sport. Not only healthy eating will help but less time to technology, this contributes to the active idea. The more you spend outdoors and such, the better. These simple yet effective things will help a lot on the way to prevent obesity.

Now if you feel that you have a little too much weight and fear that you may become obese, there’s no need to worry, there are ways to lose the weight quickly. Keep a diary of what you eat, see the calories of each consumed food item and it might help you change the way you eat. After breakfast drink water, according to studies, drinking water after eating breakfast will help. The average American consumes an extra 245 calories a day from drinks with sugar. That’s almost 90,000 calories a year, or 25 pounds. Research shows that despite the calories, sugary drinks do not trigger a sense of fullness like food does.
