The Chef Speaks
The Fork Roadhouse - Sebastopol

Chilaquiles at The Fork Roadhouse in SebastopolBy Raynetta James

Sarah Piccolo, the Chef/Owner of Fork Roadhouse & Catering is an experienced chef who came to her love of absolutely fresh food growing up in French chef grandfather’s restaurant and garden. She invested in a college education from Colorado State University, studying French and Restaurant and Resort Management, and then traveled to Italy where she attended culinary school and worked at a Michelin Starred restaurant.

Upon returning to the states, she started a personal chef business in Truckee, and then spent a summer in France working as a private chef, shopping daily at farmers markets for the ingredients to serve her clients. Lucky for us, she moved to Sonoma County with her husband and daughter, setting up one of the most popular food truck businesses in the County, specializing in farm fresh, healthy food for cycling events.

Opening the restaurant is another part of her plan. A direct quote “I love it when the farmers show up with their produce. Farm to table is a really important part of my business.”

White Beans with EggsCommunity is also important. Buying local, providing a nice setting and employing the best customer relations staff she could find. I think she has succeeded. I have eaten at her restaurant three times and it has been an awesome experience. The artwork created by local artists, the pleasant, funny and accommodating greeter, plus the ambience is a winner. The creek out back by the patio is a soothing backdrop for breakfast or lunch.

If you like fresh good food, the Fork Roadhouse deserves to be on your “go to” list. The restaurant is located at 9890 Bodega Highway, Sebastopol. Hours are 9am to 3pm Thursday through Sunday except Thursday features a Happy Hour from 4pm to 6pm and dinner starting at 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Reservations are required for a party of 6 or more.

Check out their event page on Facebook or google Fork Roadhouse. I took Vesta there for breakfast and she’s a fan now, too. Comin’ back for more!
