Guerneville, again, has a new place of business open for your eating pleasure: Blended Choice is now open on Armstrong Woods Road! After months of renovation and creation behind brown papered windows, we get to see the groovy new digs and enjoy Smoothies, Sandwiches, Wraps, infused waters and much, much, more!

Already a favorite spot among the locals, we wish them much success and isn’t it great to see this space occupied again?!

April 1st, No Foolin!, is the Russian River Chamber of Commerce Mixer that will be co-hosted by Russian River Getaways. They will be groovin’ with Garden Grill & Smokin’ Joes’s BBQ along with Sophie’s Cellars who will be serving small bites and pouring tastes; Dessert will be a fabulous surprise, so be sure to join the fun from 6-8 pm. 14070 Mill Street, Guerneville.

Friday, April 3rd, be sure to head to Northwood Restaurant and Bar for the Russian River Sisters’ 14th Anniversary Celebration! This is the Grants Giveaway party with lots of entertainment and the Sainting Ceremony of our local residents who have earned their Certificate of Sainting (suitable for framing)! Everyone is welcome for an evening of food, fun, fabulousness and frivolity! 6:30-9pm.

Saturday, April 4th, the Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods will be holding a Community Education Seminar from 1-4pm. Meet at the Volunteer Office at Armstrong Redwoods for an afternoon of exploring forest fauna through story: Banana Slugs and Mountain Lions, OH MY!

Curtain Call Theatre continues its live, groovy performance of “Separate Tables”. A play by Terrence Rattigan, which is directed by our very own Michael Tabib. If you have never had the pleasure of experiencing this live theatre, you are really missing out! It is located at 20347 Hwy 116 in Monte Rio; call for reservations or more information: (707) 524-8739. They are having their “Champagne Buffet Gala” on Saturday, April 11th, featuring sumptuous delectables and desserts, along with Korbel Brut and Wines and non-alcoholic beverages. Doors open at 7pm.

April 11th has a LOT of groovy happenings! That evening the Russian River Sisters will be holding “A DINGO ate my BINGO”….Bingo at the Vets Hall, benefiting River to Coast Children’s Services. This will sell out fast, so be sure to purchase your brown paper tickets at www.rrsisters.org. Remember, this is NOT your Grandma’s Bingo!

Sunday, April 12th will be the Frank Lambert Senior Memorial Poker Tournament which will benefit the Prostate Awareness Foundation. I hope you all saw the information in last month’s column and have reserved your tables for this special event! If not, you still have time! Contact Mary Agneberg at (707)529-1743 or mary@prostateawarenessfoundation.org. This groovy event will be held at Buck’s, from 2-6pm.

Have you seen the “Old Bank Building” recently? What a transformation! Come on out for the Grand Opening on Saturday, April 18th to tour the building and see all of the co-ops that will be displaying their groovy wares and offerings! A huge thank you to Bob and his crew for the beautiful job they have done in restoring this beautiful building! The event will begin at 10 am and run throughout the day.

On Saturday, April 25th, the Russian River Chamber of Commerce will be holding a wine and food event to promote our local groovy restaurants, art galleries and wineries. This will be taking place in the Lark’s Parking Lot from 11am – 3pm. For more information, stop by the Chamber Office located on the Plaza!
