Bill Hechtman of Jenner, CA. 1921 - 2014

Bill Hechtman of Jenner, CA. 1921 - 2014

Jenner has lost a very special man. Bill Hechtman left us on Thursday night, Dec. 4th at age 93, with his friends reaching to remember the thousands of jokes he told over the years. Loved for his enormous heart, his unbounding wit and profound sense of humor, Bill died in the arms of a beautiful blonde, overlooking the river's mouth at the Pacific ocean.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly, daughter Nancy, son George, granddaughters Samantha and Tracy, grandsons Reno and Alex and his nieces Katherine and Elizabeth.

Until he is reborn into another little body, the vultures will have lost their appetites, and the songbirds may forget their words. Foxy and Bill's racoons will peer through his window glass, looking for their friend, as will all of us who were touched by his sweet soul.

Here are a few Billisms:

"When I get in my car to go somewhere, I just hope everybody else is lucky."

"Only lie for the good of somebody."

"I hate it when the man on the moon has an evil grin on his face."

And a favorite poem he wrote:

Life is like a shadow on a wall;

Blown by wind and dust all day

Sometimes flower petals

Fading at dusk

Ending with the coming of darkness

Hopefully rising ghost like

When there is moonlight
