Call to Artists Art as Part of Black History

February is Black History Month and the Occidental Center for the Arts Gallery invites artists to submit artwork reflecting their personal views about civil rights and black history in any media.  The juried exhibit will accompany a private collection of pre- and post- civil rights era memorabilia.

How to Prepare Your Image for Exhibit and Sale

  • Art that will hang on the wall must be framed and hung by a secure wire on the back, with all sides finished. Size limit is 48” on any side.
  • The Gallery gets 40% and Artist gets 60% if your image is sold.
  • Download and fill out the Entry Contract from for each framed print.  Complete one contract for all prints in sleeves or envelopes, with list of titles and prices on the back.  
  • Entry Fees. Framed work to hang: $15.00 for the first piece, $5 each for additional pieces up to 4 entries per artists. Cash or check payable to OCA. Entry fees are nonrefundable.

Feb. 2, 5-7 pm          Deliver art to the OCA Gallery

Feb. 6 to March 1     Show exhibit. Gallery is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 11-4.

Feb. 6, 5-7 pm          Opening reception. Bring your friends for a glass of wine and                                  to see the show

Mar, 2, 5-7 pm          Pick up all unsold images and display stands/bins at the                                         OCA Gallery
