Cazadero Communications - November 2014

Cazadero Communications - November 2014

by Natasha Pehrson

Although the Cazadero Community Club will not be meeting at this time, there will be several events sponsored by the club.

Saturday, November 8th is the date for the Annual Cazadero Holiday Crafts Faire: hours from 10-4, and this year will feature over 20 local artisans with wonderful items for your shopping needs plus a delicious display of fabulous baked goods. You know that every year I happily anticipate one of their scrumptious banana cream pies!  Become a Caz Club member for only $15 (Family) or $10 (Individual) dues, payable to P.O. Box 3, Cazadero, CA 95421. Saturday, November 15th is the date to save for the Annual Community Thanksgiving Feast which will be also be held at Firehall #1. Please come at 5:30 and enjoy a wonderful home cooked meal by dedicated local cooks, with desserts by Club members.

Cazadero Supply continues to offer their 1st Saturday 15% Discount Day, with an incredible assortment of items to help you with house, garden and automotive projects. Raymond’s Bakery tantalizes the tastebuds with their wonderful baked goods and enjoyable Friday Pizza Nights, accompanied by live music. Both the Cazadero and Duncans Mills General Stores have a good assortment of daily groceries and local specialty items.

Brian Trombly of Mr. Trombly’s Teas and Tastes in Duncans Mills offers a unique program where they honor outstanding teachers throughout Sonoma County with a generous gift certificate for their great products. Please contact them at 865-9979 to find out how you may nominate the next candidate!

Child care is an important part of many folks lives and we have an excellent place in Guernewood Park, adjacent to the Garden Grill – the Living and Loving Center! Ably operated by my dear friend Teri Foster of Jenner, with a variety of hours available. Please call 869-3850.

The Cazadero Community Church offers its worship service each Sunday at 10 a.m., with every 2nd Sunday a ‘potluck’ for all. The Crandall Brothers gospel group will be featured on November 16th.

Another traditional Holiday Crafts Faire is the Bodega event held at the old Firehall on the Friday and Saturday right after Thanksgiving. This year this falls on November 28th and 29th. I feel that Bodega is a similar place to Cazadero, with many willing volunteers who organize pleasant events for all! The Faire features many local craftspeople and the fabulous Quilt Raffle!

Happy November Birthdays to Bill Tourady on the 1st, along with Colin Kelly turning 29 0n that date, Chris and Cody Romero on the 2nd, Angel Feeney will be 22 on the 6th, Heather Parmeter celebrates on the 8th, David Orlando-Griggs will be 25 on the 14th, Jackson Chambers and Stacy Gevas on the 15th, Irene Johnson turns 18 on the 17th, Joyce Berry celebrates on the 24th, and Vic Gradunov on the 26th. I will also include local poet/former Sonoma Poet Laureate Mike Tuggle who will celebrate on December 1st!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, turn your clocks back on November 2nd and call me at 632 5545 or email with info for your Cazadero Column!
