Cotati’s New Gift Store Opens to Rave Reviews

Cotati’s New Gift Store Opens to Rave Reviews

Stones Throw, located at 15 Charles Street in Cotati, quietly opened its doors on October 1 to a stream of excited customers. The new gift store and gallery, which focuses on local gifts for the body, mind, and spirit, held a grand opening celebration on, October.

Some of the locally-made items at the store include jewelry, cards, crystals, candles, health products, wall art, rattles, pottery, stained glass, books, and CD’s. The store also offers a selection of recycled and reused products – gifts for the earth. Some of the comments that visitors have made include, “This is the best thing that has happened to Cotati,” “I’ll come back every week,” “I’m so excited that you have opened,” and “I’m going to do my Christmas shopping here.”

The store is part of Songbird Community Healing Center across the street, which will be five years old at the end of this year. “We opened the store in response to the need we perceived from our clients and the greater community for a store of this nature. The instant sales and positive reviews confirmed that we were right,” says Songbird director and Stones Throw owner, Jasmine Gold. “The timing was spurred by the closing of Gravenstone’s Smoke Shop, which was around the corner in the same building. We purchased some of their display cases, shelves and card racks.” Like Songbird, community is part of the Stones Throw retail model, and the store will partly be staffed by the artists who have products in the store. There are future plans to offer artist talks and demonstrations.
