Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) announced that it will reopen the Santa Rosa North and Sonoma County Airport stations Monday morning and resume its full-service schedule. SMART will also continue to offer free service to assist those who need transportation options through Wednesday.

Service resumes Monday from Sonoma County Airport to downtown San Rafael, serving all stations in between. SMART will run 34 weekday trips, with southbound service starting at 4:19 a.m. out of the Sonoma County Airport station, and northbound service beginning at 5:59 a.m. out of San Rafael. Service will continue mid-day, through the peak commute, and into the evening with the last southbound train departing the Sonoma County Airport station at 6:49 p.m. and the last northbound train departing San Rafael at 8:35 p.m. (Please see schedule below)

The Santa Rosa North and Sonoma County Airport stations had been closed due to power outages and extreme fire conditions, and SMART’s Santa Rosa-based Rail Operations Center had been operating on generator power. Power has now been restored at SMART’s facilities. SMART was able to get back in service Monday afternoon, running from the Santa Rosa Downtown and Ran Rafael stations, and has been providingfree passenger service since that time.

Please be aware that fire conditions can change at any time. Please check SMART’s website:www.SonomaMarinTrain.org before starting your trip to ensure there are no schedule changes.

Safety is SMART’s top priority and we will continue to monitor fire conditions and will use all necessary safety precautions.
