May 30, 2017

Share:

The City of Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks Department is working with GSM Landscape Architecture, Inc. and David J. Powers & Associates developed a Master Plan for Kawana Springs Community Park. The draft design plan for Kawana Springs Community Park was presented at a community meeting on May 20th and is now available online for additional public review and input.

This is a continuation of the community park planning process that began in the summer of 2015. The Master Plan will provide a long-range vision to guide development of this 19.2-acre park located in southeast Santa Rosa at Kawana Terrace and Meda Avenue. David J. Powers has been providing ongoing environmental analysis of the park area and GSM is working on the draft design plan. Residents are encouraged to particpate in the planning process to help determine the future of the park!

The online public input forum for the plan will be open through June 5th. A second in-person community meeting will be held
Saturday, June 24th from 1-3pm
Bennett Valley Senior Center
704 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa
,
and the updated plan will be presented for community members to provide feedback.

The plan shown at the June 24th meeting will then be placed online. The following Monday (June 26th) and an online public input forum for the plan will remain open for two weeks (through July 10th). Based on input received at that point, the Recreation & Parks Department will assess next steps.
