Yes, Yes, I didn’t write my column last month. Life can sometimes get so very busy that there are only so many hours in a day and month and there’s not always enough time to fit everything in. I’m back and am here to serve you!
Time sure is whizzing by: I can’t believe how time is flying by....Christmas and New Year’s was just here....being of Russian and Greek descent, I just took down my holiday decorations as Russian Xmas is celebrated in January. Xmas has always been such a festive time for me. I love to decorate the interior of my home not with just one tree but at least 3-4 brightly colored artificial trees. They arrive with LED lights attached to the them and really illuminate any room. The moment I take down my decorations, I feel as though I must put something else up in the space to bring a little whimsy into my great room. This year I have already ordered a 6 foot tall branch tree with hot pink cherry blossom LED flowers. It will fit nicely in my living room window for all to enjoy!
The month of February:Ahhh, my VERY favorite month of the year! Why you may ask? Well for starters, Valentine’s Day and my Birthday! My husband and I have been together for 33 years (we met when we were very young) and have always made a point to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Its always been a special day for us. We normally go to dinner or make dinner in and exchange cards and gifts. As a small child in grade school I used to make cards for all the kids in my class and give out heart candies with the little sayings on them. I guess much hasn’t changed.
Now, my Birthday. Well that’s a whole other ball game. I make sure to celebrate it every year with a big bang! And, ofcourse, my Birthday lands on President’s Day and is a holiday. Guess I can’t complain. Happy Valentine’s Day to you, your friends, loved ones and family.

Stavros comes to us as a little baby boy. He is 16 weeks old and is already claiming his space here in Rio Nido. He is a beautiful young boy with loads of energy, a huge appetite and is a very friendly, loving young pup. He shares his home with Jesse James the Rottweiler, Minka the Chihuahua, Lollipop Lolita the Chihuahua and Roxanna Jezebel the Schipperke from Belgium. His favorite past time is running around all over the house chasing his sister Roxanna. He is scheduled for his last puppy shots in a week. So stay tuned. You will be seeing Stavros and his mommy all over Rio Nido taking walks. When full grown he will be a very large doggy and a stellar protector of his domain. Let’s give Stavros a warm Rio Nido welcome.
