North Bay Stage Company leaves Luther Burbank Center for the Arts

North Bay Stage Company, a resident theatre company of Luther Burbank Center for the Arts announced today that they will not be planning shows at the venue next year.

"The reason for the change in scheduling our next season is to pursue other projects that have developed over the past several months to a year. Therefore, keeping our calendar open will allow us to explore these exciting opportunities and grow as a production company," says, John DeGaetano, NBSC Artistic Director, Broadwayworld nominee, who has directed shows in London, New York, and in California for many years. "NBSC remains a successful working organization, has maintained a sizable following and funding to produce additional projects... something we are extremely proud of."

Over the many years together the group has produced more than 70 musical, drama, comedy, and dance productions. The current NBSC show schedule at LBC in Santa Rosa includes,"Monster Bash - A Halloween Extravaganza" opens Oct 27-29, and the hit musical"1940's Radio Hour" running Nov 24 - Dec 10, 2017.

"We are a production company first and foremost, so these new opportunities in development requires the energies of our entire group. We prefer not to be nailed down or committed to a formal 2018 season of shows or specific venue. As resident company we will, however, miss our wonderful friends at LBC - but that’s not to say another production won't be scheduled at the venue in the future," DeGaetano said.

"In theatre just as in any other business, it's important to know what to consider, where, or when new projects for our organization may arise. We thank the staff ofLuther Burbank Center for the Arts for their service over the years and look forward to our upcoming productions at the center in October and November,"

NBSC, a non-profit organization, produces an assortment of events including, comedies, dramas, musicals, dance, readings, & education designed to encourage growth in performing arts. Their goal, as an organization is to give talent an opportunity to perform, in addition to creating various performance styles & experiences for theatergoers.
